2nd Shift DC Operations Manager

Manages one or more operational areas of the distribution center in accordance with company policies and procedures.

1.    Leads, directs, and is accountable for one or more operational areas across one or more shifts within the regional distribution center (RDC).
2.    Leads a team of operations supervisors, providing direction, coaching, and mentorship while ensuring all operational goals and objectives are achieved.
3.    Partners with fellow operations managers and supervisors to collectively achieve RDC objectives.
4.    Accountable to General Manager and Director for operational results, supervisor development, safety, and associate well-being, achievement and morale.
5.    Develops and recommends cost, productivity, accuracy, and safety objectives for operational areas.
6.    Responsible for supervisor and associate development, performance appraisals, coaching, motivation, counseling, and if necessary disciplinary action to ensure areas operate in the best interests of Big Lots’ mission and values
7.    Continuous review, evaluation, and audit of operational procedures and performance KPIs with the purpose of identifying areas for improvement or developing potential cost saving projects.
8.    Visible and engages with supervisors and associates in all areas and work schedules.
9.    Drives for results, thinks clearly and effectively in all situations and environments.
10.    Establishes clear performance expectations, monitor, and proactively drive improvement while providing continuous feedback to promote site/ team / individual development and growth.
11.    Maintains Pay for Performance incentive program conditions. Engages with Supply Chain performance team in order to ensure program is functioning correctly, accurately and advises when conditions change.
12.    Ensures department-level compliance with key company standards of safety, facility maintenance, and  postings/notifications.
13.    Takes proactive role in establishing and carrying out shrink control disciplines and programs and accepts high level of responsibility for distribution center’s shrinkage performance.
14.    Assumes all managerial responsibilities concerning Human Resources policies and wage administration including KRONOS payroll processing.
15.    Displays maturity, discretion and sound, principled judgment while preserving the integrity of our Mission, Vision and Values statement in making all business decisions.



Qualification

1.    Minimum of three years previous leadership and supervisory experience within a Distribution Center strongly preferred.
2.    Proven ability to demonstrate functional knowledge of supply chain management.
3.    Strong and trusted leadership ability. 
4.    Previous Warehouse Management System (WMS), Labor Management Systems (LMS) and PC knowledge and ability preferred.
5.    Experience with effectively leading people.
6.    Strong oral and written communication, analytical, organizational and time management skills required.
7.    Ability to perform physical activity at a sustained pace including walking, bending and lifting within a Distribution Center environment required.

The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
