Senior Marketing Technology Analyst

Description

The Senior Marketing Technology Analyst will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the technology, tools, platforms, and data systems to support the wide breadth of marketing initiatives.  Uses a blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and strong communications skills to translate business requirements into technical specifications and support the development and implementation of solutions and actionable insights. 

1.    Manage the daily coordination, monitoring, and control of marketing platforms, ensuring tools are running efficiently, accurately, and with minimal downtime.
2.    Serve as the key liaison between Marketing, third-party vendors, and the internal IT team, driving project completion according to established plans and timelines.
3.    Lead the technology partnership with IT and vendors to ensure the accuracy and quality of customer data. Proactively address any issues to maintain system integrity.
4.    Lead and support marketing initiatives through the usage of CDP (Customer Data Platforms).
5.    Manage and oversee data integrations between internal and external systems to ensure seamless data flow across platforms.
6.    Write, understand, and modify SQL queries to provide actionable data and models. 
7.    Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date data dictionary for customer databases and marketing tool integrations.
8.    Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for non-technical Marketing partners, ensuring all stakeholders understand key takeaways.
9.    Interfaces with multi-disciplinary teams at Big Lots and its partners (Business Intelligence, Omni-Channel Campaign Execution, Information Technology, Database and Data Warehouse Developers, Project Managers) to support driving business value from Big Lots marketing technology solutions.



Qualification

1.    Five to eight years of experience in technology with martech landscape experience.
2.    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analysis, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
3.    SQL query language experience (including Snowflake) to conduct detailed data analysis and to create tables/views required. 
4.    Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to interact with and learn from internal and external partners required.  
5.    Experience with CDPs preferred.
6.    Above average proficiency in understanding and interpreting data, and ability to rapidly master complex data structures preferred.
7.    Intuitive ability to dig beneath the superficial and identify the root of questions/issues/concerns, identify next steps, and efficiently and effectively arrive at resolutions required.
8.    Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment while successfully meeting deadlines.
9.    Smart, curious, committed to vision, passionate, fun/pleasant, an achiever with a sense of urgency.
